Abstract

The article is an addition to a preceding article of this journal concerning the applications of energy balances in fluid mechanics. The so-called compression term in the principle of mechanical energy balance in the compressible case is taken into account. One specific illustrative example case is presented in detail. Some critique concerning lack of exactness in energy concepts in some presentations in the literature is given.
